A working group of eight energy sector trade unions, all members of the EPSU public services federation took place in Brussels yesterday (30 January). All the participants would like to express their solidarity with workers in Vattenfall in Germany:
“We support the warning strike that’s taking place between 7am and 11am on Friday 1 February. After three rounds of negotiations, the employer should make a much better offer and that means a straight pay increase covering the next 12 months without any lump sum payments.
Furthermore we want to send a clear message to Vattenfall: don’t undermine existing collectively agreed pay and conditions!
We are very disappointed that Vattenfall, a state-owned Swedish company making increasing profits, refuses to pay workers a just share in the company’s economic success.
